If you haven’t heard of NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, it’s an annual event in the month of November in which people try to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days.
Daunting? Yes. I have no clue whatsoever how this is going to go, so that’s fun!
The novel I’m going to attempt is a Middle Grade, so it could reasonably be a little less than 50,000 words. But I’ll try for 50k just to get in the spirit of the thing.
A lot of people do months of prep for this, but I haven’t really done any. I have a brief description and the barest bones of an outline, plus about 450 words of the first chapter. I think the more important prep that I’ve done was creating a Spotify playlist and a Pinterest board.
So I might not be posting on here as often, since I’ll be trying to write about 1000-1500 words of this novel I’m trying to write every day. I do have a couple of reviews I’ll be posting, plus something pretty cool planned for next weekend! But probably not much else.
Are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year? You can check out my profile and be my buddy here.
I’ve been thinking of doing Nanowrimo as well but I’ve done NO prep either. Its amazing how creating a Pinterest board can help get those ideas flowing though. I made my board and I got super inspired. Good luck on your writing!!
